Educational Equity
Sankalpa Consulting provides support for a variety of educational equity goals and initiatives. Using a theoretical framework derived from Dr. Radd's original empirical research and connected to on-the-ground practice, we deliver a full array of professional development and consulting services. We offer a large menu of pre-designed learning modules and formats to help participants learn and practice the skills of self-consciousness, cross-cultural proficiency, equity consciousness, and social and organizational change. We also custom-design professional learning modules and programs to meet
the specific needs of school-based clients who wish to grow their educational equity efforts. Finally, we work with school district leadership to integrate professional learning initiatives into the day-to-day work of teaching, learning, and leading.

Developing Leaders for Educational Equity-Foundations
Through this professional learning series, both formal/positional and informal school leaders enhance their knowledge and skill to produce more equitable, culturally responsive outcomes in their schools. The series begins by providing a strong foundation for thinking about, and exercising, cross-cultural proficiency and equity consciousness with new lenses and skills. Framed using adult learning theory, and steeped in the research literature about cultural competence and educational equity, participants explore their own frames of reference and theories of action for advancing equity and practice new ways of thinking, interacting, teaching, and leading. That foundation then leads to the creation of equity-oriented action and school improvement plans. The series includes ongoing support for monitoring, adjusting and measuring impact of action plans. Developing Leaders for Educational Equity-Foundations can be offered as a stand-alone institute for interested individuals, and is also the foundational training for district leadership teams and train the trainer models.

Cross-cultural Proficiency/Intercultural Development Inventory
As qualified adminstrators of the Intercultural Development Inventory, we can administer and interpret this assessment for interested individuals, your leadership team, or your entire school staff. This assessment provides profound, individualized insights into cross-cultural interaction, and is a potent vehicle for the growth of individual and group practice. Use of this assessment can be paired with individual coaching and/or any of our other professional development offerings for maximum impact.
Equity-Oriented Collaborative Inquiry
This is a stand-alone professional development opportunity that is sponsored by school districts and educational cooperatives. In this rigourous action research program, teams of teachers and other school professionals learn to conduct meaningful action research that serves to improve equitable outcomes. Participants learn the skills of planning research, collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, and communicating findings. Research teams learn to engage in critical dialogue, challenging existing interpretations of events and data, seeing new perspectives, and gaining new understandings. Most important, the entire cohort gains important knowledge and perspectives for practicing cross-cultural proficiency, increasing equity consciousness, and leading social and organizational change; these lenses permeate the entire program to ensure that the action research project leads to greater equity.
